I love, love, love Rounds!

What kind of rounds are you talking about you may wonder? Please allow me to explain…

They say “love makes the world go round” and in many ways, the Rounds I am talking about represents a unique peek into what that could look like and I will now tell you why…

When we engage with each other in Rounds, we are choosing to do things very differently to the way things are normally done in the everyday world that most of us live in.

Firstly, we are choosing to put the other person first by never interrupting. You will be amazed at how this one thing alone, unleashes something incredibly powerful.

When it is your turn to speak (and normally, you will follow the person on your left or your right – hence ‘Rounds’) and you know that you are not going to be interrupted – something very special, dare I say, magical happens; and this is the second thing that you will be amazed by…

You will not only get your turn to speak but when you do speak, you will have true Time to Think about what you want to say or how you feel.

Can you imagine the exponential impact upon a team or a group of people (it works equally well whether the people in the room know each other intimately or have never met before) where everyone knows their opinion and thoughts are as valuable as the next person?

Collectively, this massively increases both the volume but more importantly, the quality of ideas that can be generated.

I think it is a form of kindness, dare I say, a form of love, that makes this small part of the world go round in Rounds and when you get a taste for it, I promise you will want to experience it even more!

I am at heart, a communicator. I love to use words, whether written or spoken and maximise those words to hopefully, bring some encouragement - literally, to put courage into the hearts & minds of those who read or hear them. In my work as an executive coach, speaker, workshop facilitator, I love also to listen...deeply, and then respond with some encouragement.
